This Sunday: Political cinema + art books
April 19th, 2007 by Martin

The recent release of RAF-member Birgitte Mohnhaupt and the destruction of the ‘Ungdomshuset’ (formerly hotbed for alternative culture and street-level activism) calls for political flashback … according to these guys, anyway:
STATION 16, a newly formed Copenhagen group dedicated to the exhibition of avant-garde, experimental and underground cinema, takes this opportunity with it’s debut screening to revisit some of these issues by focusing on radical political actions that took place in 60s/70s America.
The inaugural show is set for this coming Sunday in ‘Huset’ (in fact, a former 80s political/punk venue), and I am definitely going. Check it out on www.station16.dk.
If you really want to optimize your Sunday cultural experience, I suggest you also go to Overgaden gallery and check out the annual art book fair. Lots of great stuff centered on art publication there (such as Bosch & Fjord, CMYK Shop, Space Poetry and several more).
